A Little Night Music

Romantic and achingly beautiful, Stephen Sondheim’s A Little Night Music deals with the universal subject of love in all its wondrous, humorous and painful complications. Set in early 20th century Sweden, middle aged Fredrik Egerman brings his 18-year-old virgin bride, Anne, to a play starring his former mistress, Desirée. As Fredrik and Desirée resume their romance, incurring the wrath of her current lover, a pompous Count, the smiling summer night at the country estate of Desirée’s mother sees to it that true love conquers all.
