Grants Received

 

May 2022
The Dramateurs, Inc. is honored to have received a $10,000 grant from West Norriton Township via the American Rescue Plan: Non-profit Public Service Support Grant Program.  The Barn Playhouse Board of Directors gratefully acknowledges West Norriton Township’s generosity and recognition in the selection process. The grant funds support local non-profit organizations in providing public services to address the adverse impacts of the Coronavirus.

 

The Barn Playhouse and its volunteers work to provide performance production and educational opportunities, foster a sense of community and teamwork, striving to contribute to the cultural fabric of the surrounding community.  The Board expresses its sincerest thanks to West Norriton Township for facilitating the application process and the grant award.

April 2008

EANA (Education Association of the Norristown Area) awarded The Dramateurs, Inc.  

$300 for our work with students in the community, particularly our youth presentation of Les Misérables: School Edition.

June 2005

Rohm and Haas Company Dollars for Doers program donated $500 to The Dramateurs, Inc. at the Barn Playhouse.  The grant recognizes the efforts of employees who volunteer for community organizations, and provides grants to support the organization. The grant recognized the volunteer service hours of Tim Bean, our Recording Secretary.  The grant allowed us to increase the dimmer capacity on our new light board and remaining funds went to our building fund for the next project.

The Vanguard Group Foundation awarded $175 to The Dramateurs, Inc. at the Barn Playhouse.  The grant recognizes the efforts of employees who volunteer for community organizations, and provides funds to support the organization.  The grant recognized the volunteer service hours of member Steve Schulz for his work on our production of Steel Magnolias.

Rohm and Haas Company Dollars for Doers program donated $500 to The Dramateurs, Inc. at the Barn Playhouse. The grant recognizes the efforts of employees who volunteer for community organizations, and provides grants to support the organization. The grant recognized the volunteer service hours of Tim Bean, the group's President.  The grant will be applied to our next building project, the replacement of our stage lighting system, scheduled for completion in July of 2004.

The Montgomery County Foundation awarded The Dramateurs, Inc. at the Barn Playhouse $1000 towards our next building project, the replacement of our stage lighting system.

EANA (Education Association of the Norristown Area) awarded The Dramateurs, Inc. $250 for our work with students in the community, particularly the special performance of The Woman in Black held for 10th graders from Norristown Area High School.

The grant recognizes the efforts of employees who volunteer for community organizations and provides grants to support the organization. The grant recognized the contributions of member Hugh Bray for his work on our production of Into the Woods.

The American Express Foundation awarded $800 to the Barn for our next building project, the replacement of our leaking roof.  The grant program recognizes those organizations in need, especially  where their employees volunteer community service hours.  The grant recognized the volunteer service hours of member Steve Schulz.

The Arcadia Foundation awarded a grant towards the Barn's building fund.  The Foundation has made a donation in the amount of $20,000 to help replace our leaking roof.

The Verizon Foundation (formerly the Bell Atlantic Foundation) awarded a $1,000 grant to The Dramateurs, Inc. at the Barn Playhouse.  This grant is given in support of the expansion of The Dramateurs' Community Arts Education Program. The Dramateurs' Community Arts Education Program will use the Verizon Foundation gift to provide programs for members of the community who may not otherwise have an opportunity to experience the Arts.  Admissions to performances which include interactive workshops with actors, directors, musicians as well as production and technical staff will be made available to disadvantaged groups who would like to learn about the theater medium.  The Dramateurs' goal is to reach out to and educate young people and open their eyes to the many possibilities that theater and the arts have to offer.

This award is given each year to an outstanding student who has displayed dedication in promoting the theater through scholastic and community activities.
