In a classic "whodunit" the friends of William Gillette assemble at his country estate in Connecticut for a party. One year earlier a murder occurred at this same party. Gillette, a fan of Sherlock Holmes, hosts a séance in the hopes of revealing the murderer and discovering their deadly secret.
